About Me
Born and raised in Norfolk, I was condemned to supporting Norwich City Football Club for the rest of my life. My dad took me to my first game at Carrow Road when I was six years old, and my love for football and most things sport blossomed from there.
My passion for American sports and travel has also seen me visit the 'Land of the Free' numerous times in the last few years. In doing so, I have adopted a second club to support, Orlando City, who I have since seen live numerous times and on both coasts of the North American continent.
Having completed A-Levels in History, English Literature, German, and Physical Education, I am currently studying for a Bachelor's degree in History at the University of Warwick, where I also write for the university's student publication, The Boar. Since then, I have also started writing for two online sports news publications, VAVEL and MLS Multiplex. In June 2025, I completed a week's work experience at local Norwich paper, the Eastern Daily Press.
My principal inspiration in journalism takes the form of motoring journalists and television personalities Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May. Clarkson in particular has influenced my written voice, with his 'unique' commentary on an extensive range of topics including cars, Norfolk, death, and America.
In my work covering Orlando for MLS Multiplex, I have started to develop a more unique way of writing about football. Instead of making full use of any access to the press box, I choose to support my team from the stands alongside my friends and fellow fans. Not only does this increase my enjoyment of the game tenfold, experiencing the ebbs and flows and highs and lows of a game from the stands helps me craft a more rounded, authentic interpretation of the team's performance.
Moving about Norfolk, however, can be fun. I am used to having people point as I go by. Most shout, "Hey, look, it's a Cosworth!" but in Norfolk they shout, "Hey, look, it's a car!"
